The Qombo VoP solution is now certified at the European level

In June 2025, Qombo obtained the official certification of its solution as a Routing & Verification Mechanism (RVM) from the European Payments Council (EPC). This recognition makes Qombo one of the first five certified RVMs in Europe, positioning our company as a pioneer in aligning with the Verification of Payee (VoP) regulation.

What is an RVM?

An RVM (Routing & Verification Mechanism) is a technical partner of banks and fintechs recognized by the EPC. It plays a central role in the implementation of the Verification of Payee scheme. Its role is to facilitate exchanges between payment service providers (PSPs) to verify the match between an IBAN and the beneficiary's name before executing a transfer. This service helps protect users of banking applications against APP fraud across Europe.

A certification granted by the EPC

The RVM certification is obtained through a rigorous testing process on the ART Toolbox platform, validating the solution's compliance with the specifications of the EPC VoP Rulebook.

This certification allows Qombo to manage incoming and outgoing VoP requests and access the EPC Directory Service (EDS) on behalf of its financial institution clients. The EDS is the centralized European directory of PSPs, accessible via the SwiftRef platform managed by SWIFT.
